Studi ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh ekspektasi terhadap vaksin, kepercayaan kepada pemerintah, ancaman yang dirasakan dan informasi berlebihan yang didapat terhadap disonansi kognitif dan implikasinya terhadap penggunaan vaksin, negosiasi perilaku dan penghindaran informasi. Setelah kami merumuskan delapan hipotesis, kesemuanya akan diuji dengan menggunakan metode structural equation model partial least square (SEM-PLS). Sejumlah 132 anggota komunitas akan dilibatkan dalam studi ini untuk mengisi kuisioner dengan tujuh pilihan jawaban. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekspektasi terhadap vaksin dan informasi yang berlebihan ditemukan mempengaruhi disonansi kognitif sedangkan ancaman yang dirasakan akibat pandemi COVID-19 dan kepercayaan pada pemerintah tidak mempengaruhi disonansi kognitif. Kami juga menemukan bahwa disonansi kognitif secara negatif dan signifikan mempengaruhi penggunaan vaksin dan secara positif dan siginifikan mempengaruhi perilaku untuk terus bernegosiasi dan menghindari informasi berkaitan dengan vaksinasi COVID-19. Studi ini adalah termasuk di antara studi pertama yang meneliti anggota komunitas antivaksin secara kuantitatif dan secara praktis upaya yang dapat dilakukan adalah mengintervensi mereka agar mereka terdisonansi secara kognitif yang dapat dilakukan dengan meningkatkan ekpektasi terhadap vaksinasi dan membuat mereka bingung dengan menghadirkan informasi yang berlebihan yang mereka terima.
